In early June, members of the consortium gathered in Belgium at the Thomas More campuses in Lier and Mechelen. This in-person meeting allowed them to review the results of two significant surveys: one on Good Practices in the Use of Extended Reality in Nursing Training, led by Katrin De Winter from Thomas More, and another on Paediatric Nursing Students’ Learning Needs, conducted by Barbara Boutopoulou from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

The meeting further featured presentations on Good Practices in Higher Education in Norway, presented by Eivind Kverno from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, and in Flanders, presented by Ellen Van Gerwen from Artesis Plantyn, Katrin De Winter and Kristine Sels from Thomas More, all spurring fruitful discussions.

The first day concluded on a high note with demonstrations on the use of high-fidelity mannequins, showcasing their potential in nursing training.

The second day was highlighted by an inspiring session and workshop on Immersive Technology, conducted by members of the Research Group Mobilab & Care of Thomas More.

On the final day, the consortium explored XR possibilities for the development of the PedXR framework, presented by Omega Technology. This session provided valuable information and guidance, leading to the selection of topics for the learning modules.

Without a doubt one of the most rewarding aspects of the meeting was the opportunity given to the partners to socialize and strengthen their relationships, enhancing future collaboration.
