PeDXR at the EAPS Congress 2025: Connecting Ideas, People, and Innovation in Paediatric Nursing
This October, the PeDXR project was proudly represented by Katrin De Winter, Thomas More and Dr. Barbara Boutopoulou at the EAPS Congress 2025, a leading European event bringing together experts in paediatrics, neonatology, and child health.
On Saturday the 18th of October, Katrin De Winter had the opportunity to present her e-poster on the national and global analysis of the use of Extended Reality (XR) in paediatric nursing, sharing insights from the PeDXR project with an international audience.
Throughout the congress, she met several inspiring professionals who are equally passionate about transforming nursing education through digital innovation. A particularly exciting encounter was with Siret Läänelaid, Senior Lecturer and Airin Treiman-Kiveste, Lecturer, Tartu Applied Health Sciences University who are collaborating with Professor Christiana Nicolaou, Cyprus University of Technology on a similar Erasmus-funded project, Virtual Children’s Hospital for Learning Pediatric Nursing, VLPN, exploring the use of Virtual Reality in education.
Conversations quickly evolved into brainstorming possible collaborations and future project extensions, bringing together shared expertise and enthusiasm for immersive learning environments.
Attending EAPS provided not only an excellent opportunity to showcase PeDXR’s achievements, but also to strengthen the growing network of educators and researchers working at the intersection of paediatrics, nursing, and Extended Reality.
